We all need a little LOVE! ❤️
Join us Friday, November 13, as LOVE host Jamie O'Sullivan welcomes two very special guests: G-Force (Gina Hesse) and DJ Kohaku (Amber Simmons), together known as Better Red Than Dead.
It's Amber's first LOVE, and it's been a hot minute since Gina has been on! We're excited to have these two longtime favorites of Maine's electronic music scene joining Jamie for a special night of house, 2-step, UK garage, and drum and bass.

Jamie O'Sullivan
Our LOVE host Jamie O'Sullivan welcomes this month's guests for a special edition exploring house, garage, 2-step, and drum and bass. LOVE has always been about the music and the people who come together for it, and we're looking forward to sharing this one with two artists who have helped shape Maine's electronic music community.
G-Force (Gina Hesse)
Gaia Rising • Scientific Sound • New England Junglists • 100proof Crew
Native New Yorker G-Force began teaching herself to DJ in 1999 with a stack of jungle records and hand-me-down Stanton direct-drive turntables.
After moving to Maine in 2008, she connected with local DJs who became mentors and friends. She went from playing open decks at a local bar to performing at festivals and events throughout the East Coast, including Maine's legendary Beltek festival, Elements in Cambridge, and Torque in Orlando.
She's also provided direct support for artists including DJ Craze, Donald Glaude, Sunshine Jones, Monk, and Frankie Bones.
While jungle and drum and bass are her specialties, Gina also loves playing house, UK and US garage, and 2-step.
For more than 13 years, she's helped organize over 150 events, including Portland's SUNDAZE series, Rumble in the Jungle, and Gaia Rising. Her dedication to bringing people together through music has made her an important part of Maine's electronic music community.
Listen to G-Force:
DJ Kohaku (Amber Simmons)
Drive It Like Ya Stole It • New England Junglists • Gaia Rising
DJ Kohaku has been an integral part of Maine's underground electronic music scene for more than two decades.
Amber's introduction to rave culture came at the legendary Bubblebath event in 2001, where hearing DJ Joyride play trance inspired her to learn how to DJ. While recovering from a serious car accident, she began teaching herself to spin and later helped establish the Drive It Like Ya Stole It crew.
The parties they organized became a memorable part of Maine's early underground rave scene, bringing people together through music, community, and a shared appreciation for good sound.
Although trance was her first love, Amber eventually discovered a passion for drum and bass. Her sets move between jump-up, neurofunk, rollers, and whatever feels right in the moment.
Known for her smooth mixing and deep musical knowledge, Kohaku has also become a mentor and supportive presence for generations of DJs and ravers. She's passionate about keeping the scene welcoming, looking out for one another, and making sure everyone gets home safely.
Amber considers Flask Lounge a home within Maine's electronic music community, making her first LOVE appearance especially meaningful.
A Special Edition of LOVE
This month, Jamie is joined by two women with decades of experience behind the decks and a whole lot of history in Maine's rave community.
Expect house, 2-step, UK garage, drum and bass, and plenty of reasons to dance.
Come celebrate Amber's LOVE debut, welcome Gina back, and show some appreciation for the people who have helped keep our local music scene going all these years.
We all need LOVE. ❤️
